It all started with dinner at Gigi and Grandpa Mike's house on Sunday evening. We were all getting together to celebrate Uncle Randy and Aunt Shellie's February birthdays and to entertain Mike and Gigi before Mike's surgery on Monday morning. Joey had gotten stitches the previous week and it was decided that they needed to come out that night. So, with a pair of the dullest scissors I've ever seen, Shellie proceeded to saw off Joey's stitches while I held his hand. Abby was so traumatized that Aunt Cindy had to take her into the bathroom to play with Gigi's makeup! After the first two stitches we realized that we needed sharper scissors and the only one available had rounded tips!!! Poor Joey. He did brilliantly though and it all worked out fine. On to the next surgery. After swimming lessons, we all went to wait with Gigi at the hospital during Grandpa Mike's surgery. Unfortunately while there, Mount Lissie errupted and disturbed the entire cafeteria and then the surgery waiting room all over a banana. When she calmed down, the girls got to color. I just love how they spread themselves out on the floor. Too cute. The surgery went well and after a horrible night recovering from anesthesia, Mike is recovering nicely. Phew!!! Of course, that wasn't the end of it. While waiting for Mike to come out of surgery, my mom, Granny, called to say the infection in her finger was getting worse and she had to go in for surgery the following day! Can you believe it?! So the following day, Mike took off of work to watch the girls while I went to the hospital with Dad for Mom's surgery. It went very well as well but because of the severity of the infection, Mom needed to get a pic line put in and has to have IV antibiotics daily for about 4 weeks! After her surgery, she had to go to another hospital to their infectious disease center and get the line put in. She was there for hours!! Then to make matters worse, she had to go for hand therapy every day for a week. It was awful. I never realized that an infection could get so serious! She's doing much better now and the risk of losing her finger is over. So, three surgeries, one minor and two major all in a matter of three days! It was a rough week. Below are some of the pictures in the Sky Ridge hospital waiting room.

A HUGE thank you Shan, Mike and girls for taking such good care of me, being my taxi driver, giving me my IV and making this whole ordeal bearable.
I kew ther was a reason we moved to Colorado!!
Wow! I hope this week is much calmer!! By the way, I LOVE the picture of Lissie on the floor smiling at the camera - its one of my favorites of her, I'm not sure why. She's adorable! :)
