According to Abby

We took Abby to her second movie today. She got to see a Veggie Tales movie. She did really well waiting for it to start and it seemed like we would only visit the restroom once or twice. WRONG....7 times. Finally when it seemed like she would sit through the rest of the film, she got up and said "bye bye movie" and walked out.

Lissie Has New Tricks

Today is one of the happiest days of my life.......Lissie said MOMMY!!!!!! I'm going to try and get it on video so you can all hear how cute she sounds:)

She has also recently learned the motions to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Shake Your Sillies! My little baby is getting way too big.

My Naughty Little Lissie

Lissie's new favorite activity is crawling over to Mac's dog water and putting her foot into it. This would be one thing if she only did this at home but the first thing she did when we went to Granny and Grandpa's house was find Jack and Rusty's water and put her foot in it!!! Naughty little schtooklet!

Abby's Life in Pictures

Abby went to her very first movie this past Thursday. We went to see Horton Hears a Who.
She loved having her own seat and her popcorn and soda. I think her favorite part though was going to the bathroom. We went at least 5 times. The joys of potty training!!!
Abby loves playing "baby." Here she is in Lissie's bathtub which we keep in our linen closet.
A true little lady....Abby LOVES shoes. She has tried on ever single pair of shoes I own.
And she's even tried on most of Daddy's shoes as well.

Abby entertaining her little sister until Mommy gets her out of the crib. She loves Lissie and anytime she hears her over the monitor, she runs to me and says "Mommy, Lissie awake now. Lets go see her."
Abby loves to draw. Every single day she asks to draw with her pens. She's actually getting quite good and is currently doing zig zags or "m's " as she calls them.
I never thought an empty bathtub could provide so much entertainment. Both girls played sweetly together for over half an hour!!!

11 Months Old....Already

Wow! 11 months. It seems impossible that Lissie is almost a year old. Pretty soon I won't have a baby anymore, I'll have a toddler!!! It has definitely been a fun-filled month. Lissie is now fully into the exploring mode of her little life. She is into everything!

Here she is fully clothed in the tub playing with her sister. She loves the bathroom and we have to be extremely careful of flushing the toilet and closing the doors. Very difficult with an independent potty training sister! I can't tell you how many baths Lissie has had as a result of playing with gross toilet paper her sister left in the toilet. Eeeeew! Lissie has also found the dishwasher. I was too slow to catch her climbing on it and she was too smart to try it again while Mommy was around!
Mac is also "benefitting" from Lissie's newfound explorer persona. Here she is helping him stick to his diet by grabbing some food and ......
eating it!!! Don't worry he eats very healthy organic dog food. Perfectly safe for babies. I'm just kidding, I made her give it back to him. Good thing he's such a sweet natured dog. I ended up in an emergency room after putting my hand in a dog's dish!
Another interesting new food, twistable crayons. Its a good thing her big sister didn't see her doing this.
Life with Lissie is so much fun. She is growing and changing so quickly. She is taking steps but is, thankfully, far from being a walker. She has now progressed to table foods and like her mommy, she LOVES meat and potatoes. She also likes to eat out and loves pasta and chinese food. She is getting a little more hair that looks to maybe have a slight tinge of red in it. Unfortunately, she has the temper to match :) When we're in the car she has to have her Elmo Loves You board book. Anytime she fusses its usually because she lost it to her sister. She loves to tease and will often hand you something and then take it back right as you reach for it. Abby is not fond of this trick. Lissie adores her big sister and tries to do everything Abby can do. Abby was even her 4th word! Its been so much fun getting to know this little sweetie and we're enjoying every minute of it.

A Special Visit

We were very blessed this past weekend to have my Aunt Mich and Ellian visit us. Sadly they were only with us for the Sunday and part of Monday but we had a wonderful time with them. On Sunday they came over to the house to play with the girls and Abby thoroughly enjoyed showing Auntie Mich her big girl bed and how she can swing from her closet rod. She also loved having "Mr. E" read to her. Lissie, who was getting her first tooth, was a little crabby but got to have some great cuddle time with Auntie Mich. Both girls showed off their swimming abilities in our little pool out back and then that evening we went out for dinner. The girls were spoiled rotten and Abby is already asking when she gets to see Auntie Mich and "Mr. E" again. Thank you both so much for making the trip out to see us. We really loved getting to spend time with you. We can't wait until we can see you again. We Love You!!!

Swimming At Gigi's

Gigi invited the girls to come swimming at the pool in her neighborhood with cousins Sam and Joey. We all had a blast!
Abby loves swimming. She's learning how to scissor-kick.
Lissie loved the big pool and even though her feet didn't touch the bottom, she really enjoyed kicking and moving all over the pool.
I'm not sure who had more fun in the pool... Sam and Joey or Uncle Mike!

Lissie's New Car Seat

Lissie just got her new carseat on July 7th. Both she and Abby were very excited about the box! The seat itself was an afterthought.
Don't worry, we still have her rear-facing and we promise not to turn her around until she hits her required 1 year old and 20 pound mark.

Isn't she so cute in her big girl seat?!?!?!

The best reason of all to switch carseats....the girls get to interact more with each other. Look, they're holding hands!!!

Conversation with Abby

Daddy: I like your pony tails.
Abby: No, they're braids. Silly Daddy!

Tiny Town

We recently took a trip to the mountains and a little place called Tiny Town. It is a place for children where many Colorado landmarks have been reproduced in miniature. The main attraction for the kiddos is the train that makes its way around the whole area. We had a wonderful time together with Gigi.

Abby enjoyed looking into all of the little houses and businesses.

Lissie found a little house just her size.

Here we all are on the train. Abby loved it while Lissie was a little reserved.

The girls with their Gigi. Abby liked the train so much that she rode it twice!

Happy 4th Of July!!!

The TP Bandit

The house was quiet....too quiet. As I rounded the corner this is what greeted me. A very self-satisfied Lissie and a whole roll of toilet paper on the bathroom floor and of course, some in her mouth.

Another one of the perils of having a mobile baby and a potty training toddler!
