They'll never sleep again!

In light of our impending arrival, we decided that the girls will have to share a room.  To that end, we bought them bunk beds!!!  They were beside themselves excited.

Abby helped Daddy build them.
We're going to have to have them take turns sleeping in the top bunk.
Abby gets the first turn.  I really hope that they're going to sleep tonight!
My cutie pie Abby.
This one looks like pure trouble!

I think they finally went to sleep at 11pm!

First Snowman!

The girls made their very own snowman today all by themselves!  Well, Daddy helped a little with the head.  They had so much fun and were incredibly proud of their work.

Valentines Day Parties!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Today both girls had parties in their classes so Mike and I ran back and forth from one to another.

They got to make their own Valentine's boxes.
Decorate cookies.
And eat pizza.  A recipe for a truly great party!
Here's Lissie's party.
Of course, her favorite part was decorating the cookie.
Here's Lissie with her little friend Lilah.

What a cute and fun day for the girls.  They really enjoyed themselves.

Nighttime Reconnaisance

On the nights before Michael goes to work the girls don't sleep well. They have recently decided that these nights are the perfect times to come into Mommy's room and sleep with her. So each night (morning) right around 2am I hear the jingling of "baby" and Lissie entering our room. The second she sees Daddy there she makes a beeline for our bathroom and then when she's done she goes straight back to her bedroom. She comes back again around 6am and since Michael is long gone by then she climbs in with me, gives me a hug and then rolls over and goes to sleep. Its too cute and I love it!!!

Creativity

I remember when I was little how we would come up with some great places to hide and play.  Its great to see that the girls are following suit.  Here they are in their toy box.
I'm not sure what the game was but they had a blast.
At naptime today instead of sleeping, Abby designed a carousel!  I think she's much more creative than I ever was.  Its so much fun to see all the neat things she comes up with.

Lissie Surgery Update

Today Lissie was supposed to go in for her second eye surgery.  Our plans were changed though when last night around 5pm we got an urgent message from her doctor.  You know its serious when the doctor calls you directly and then leaves her personal cell number so you can call her back immediately.  They also called my mom as she's listed as our in case of emergency contact!  Anyhow, when we got ahold of one another, Dr. R. informed me that she had been in a meeting with all of her colleagues that afternoon and had presented Lissie's case as it is not going as she expected.  She received input from several other doctors who had similar cases that it would be best to postpone the surgery and try a different approach first.  The new approach consists of dilating Lissie's eyes again for two weeks and then putting her in a stronger eye glasses prescription.  This should force the eyes to straighten more and by doing that Dr. R. won't over correct Lissie's eye position surgically.  I truly feel like this was an answer to prayer as I have been very concerned that Lissie would have to have multiple surgeries and while I'm thrilled that we don't have to put Lissie through another surgery right now and am very grateful that Dr. R. was concerned enough to share Lissie's case with a panel of many other doctors, I really feel like we're taking steps backwards.  I will continue to pray for God's will and guidance in our lives regarding my precious baby and praise Him greatly for what He has already done for her.

Abby's Field Trip

Today I got to go along to chaperone Abby's field trip to a place called Wildlife Experience.  We got to watch a movie on a giant screen all about dolphins and then we got to explore the museum.

I think this was Abby's favorite part, running around with her friends Mary and Caitlin!
Here are Abby and Katie at the new frog exhibit.  They have over 16 different species of live frogs on display.
After the movie and the frogs we ate our sack lunches upstairs.
Here's Abby with her classmates.

It was a very fun day and Mommy is now exhausted!!!

Little Fishies

The girls started swim lessons today.  Abby has done this before but this is Lissie's very first time.
Isn't she so adorable in her little goggles and swim cap?!
Mom and Dad aren't allowed in to the swimming pool area but we get to watch behind a glass wall.  Its perfect for moms like me who can't help but get involved.  I'm constantly cheering the girls on and waving to them.  I think the other parents think I'm a little crazy.  Here's a picture of the girls going into the pool area.  They're so cute!
