Sleeping Beauty

Abby rarely naps anymore but when she does its quite the event. I think that's every blanket she could find in her room and one or two of Lissie's. She's in her bedroom doorway with her head out in the hall.

Why I don't wear make-up...

Lissie found some lip gloss today and decided she was "making eyebrows." When I asked Abby what she thought about it she said Lissie looked beautiful. When I asked her if she would let Lissie do her make-up for her she said NO! Cleaning Lissie up ruined two washcloths and a towel!

Funny Girls

We got up this morning and after getting dressed in a new "spinner" Lissie decided that we should all spin in the kitchen. She played the ABC song and we spun around the kitchen until the end of the song and tried not to fall down at the end! Yes, even Mommy spun...there's video to prove it but I'm not posting that!!

The last time Abby fell down, she decided that she was tired and just stayed down. We spun around her for the rest of the time.

DISCLAIMER: I let my girls pick out their own clothing.

Scary goggles

Ever since Easter, the girls have really enjoyed going to the local hardware stores to make free crafts. So far we've made butterfly houses, bird feeders, two different types of planters and little schoolhouse boxes. Lissie's favorite thing though are the "scary goggles" that they were given for safety. She LOVES to wear them to scare Gigi's dog Pepper.

Here she is eating her breakfast with them on.

Abby's First Field Trip

Abby got to have her very first field trip today to the Wildlife Experience. She got to explore what it would be like to be a butterfly, watch a movie on a GIANT screen and wander through all the different habitats on earth. She had so much fun. The best part for me was that I got to go with her. She still talks about it everytime we pass the museum. It was a great day for both of us.

Happy Easter!!!

I decided to try and make cinnamon rolls for Easter breakfast with Craig, Barbie and Porter. As you can see it was entertaining. The part that fell out of the pan was nice and crispy, the rest was so doughy it had to go back in the oven!

Since both of our girls have later birthdays we decided to take Easter to get them a fun toy they can play with outside. Of course, since it was cold outside, we had to set it up in the kitchen. The mess was legendary! Please note the amount of water coming out of Porter's cup!

After breakfast, we went to pick up Granny and Papa from the airport. Lissie got all dressed up in her favorite dress, her "purple spinner" and tights and, of course, her shoes on the wrong feet!

Could she be any cuter?

Easter Celebrations

This Saturday morning we loaded the girls up in the car and went off for a fun day of free crafts and egg hunts. Our first stop was the craft store where the girls were able to pick out and create their own Easter egg buckets. They had a blast putting on stickers and spelling their names. After that, we went over to our local construction store where the girls got to make a wooden butterfly house. They got aprons and badges and both of them had so much fun bashing their projects together with hammers just their size. After all the crafts we went to the park where they had 10,000 eggs for the girls to hunt as well as a helicopter dumping several thousand more.

Daddy and his girls preparing for the hunt.

Look at all those eggs. Unfortunately it was too windy for the helicopter but there were plenty of eggs.

They both had a great time getting eggs. Abby was very gentle and not remotely pushy...she didn't get very many eggs.

Lissie was a little more energetic in her pursuit...she got more eggs than Abby.

After the 1 minute hunt (yes it only took 1 minute to clear the field of 10,000 eggs) Daddy and the girls took a picture near the Easter Bunny. Abby is still a little too timid to have a picture with the bunny.

Lissie had no problems though. I have to admit though its a scary looking bunny!

Later that afternoon, after a nice long nap, the girls got to dye Easter eggs. They both had a great time and made a big mess. They even tried one of the eggs that broke. Lissie thought the yoke was going to taste like cheesy...boy was she shocked!

Abby made beautiful eggs. She always concentrates very hard on what she's doing.

My Little Artists

Both of my girls are very artistic. Abby is in a flowers and rainbow period while Lissie focuses on circles. We usually make sure that the girls color and paint at the kitchen table but this is where I found Abby after our official painting session...in her playroom (also known as my living room)

Fortunately, they also like to keep clean so immediately after painting I find them in the bathroom cleaning up all by themselves.

After that, Mommy has a little mess to clean up:)

Here's Abby at her table again. I love that look of concentration.
