Abby's Big Girl Bike

Abby got her birthday present very early this year....a Hello Kitty big girl bike! We thought she'd enjoy it more in the summer rather than in the snow:) The minute we got it home she wanted to ride. She wouldn't even let us take the tags off.

Of course, two days later she had her first fall and now she will only ride it in a small circle down in the basement!

After every time out (punishment) we require that the girls say they're sorry.
Mommy to Lissie: What do you say?
Lissie: Thank you for my time out!

For my birthday recently, Mike was working and Abby came into my room that morning to wish me a Happy Birthday. Then she asked when everyone was coming with all my presents.
Mommy: I don't think anyone is going to come over with presents.
Abby: Why?
Mommy: Well, did you get me a present?
Abby: No.
Mommy: If you didn't get Mommy a present its unlikely that anyone else will.
Abby: Wait right here. (She came back with her stuffed Boz the Bear) Happy Birthday Mommy. This is your present.
Mommy: Thank you Abby. Did you make me a cake too?
Abby: I'm too little for that!

Appertized

We've recently had several baptisms at church and it has definitely had an effect on Abby. Our church practices full immersion baptisms and we have been having them outside in the courtyard. Watching the people get dunked under water disturbed Abby for awhile until I was able to explain to her that they are showing how accepting Jesus Christ into your life washes your sins away, kind of like taking a bath:) Ever since then, she has asked to hear the Bible story of John "appertizing" Jesus every night. She has also wanted to see the pictures of when Mommy and Daddy were "appertized" in a hotel swimming pool. I wish I were a better computer photographer so I could post them but they were taken with a film camera. It is such an awesome thing to see a young child be so interested in the things of Christ. She has such a wonderful heart and I pray that she accepts Jesus at a young age and that she can remain committed. It will be one of my happiest moments the day that Abby gets "appertized!"

All the Cousins Together

Here are all the cousins on Mike's side of the family together. This was the best shot of three cameras and at least 60 pictures! Abby and Lillian are almost the same age and they had so much fun together. Its very sad that Lillian lives so far away. We can't wait til she comes back again for Christmas!

Cousins at the Zoo

The girls only female cousin Lillian came to visit all the way from Philly so we had to go to the zoo. We went to the one where we get to feed the giraffes. I LOVE feeding the giraffes.

Of course, the girls didn't want to feed the giraffes and only wanted to ride the carousel...

and Sunny the pony! This was Abby's first time going without Mommy!

Although Lissie is screaming in this shot, she really did have a lot of fun and has asked to go back to ride Sunny everyday since then!

Lissie's Fashion Sense

This is Lissie's cutest little style. She has decided that a babydoll's dress that my Granny knitted is her favorite hat. She is just too cute.

Abby's First Performance

Abby and her little Sunday School class had their first performance in front of the whole congregation today. They sang "My God Is So Big."

Of course, Abby assumed her usual I'm nervous pose. I think she enjoyed herself though and we were so proud!

My New Addiction...

Last year for my birthday my mom got me the best gift ever.....indoor skydiving lessons!

It was a blast. Look at me flying. Of course, this was right before I bashed the wall and had a spectacular fall. Fortunately for me, my instructor was very quick and made an awesome catch. It was the BEST!!!

Mike came with and did a great job himself. We are both really excited about going again someday. We just need to save our pennies:)

Happy Fourth of July!!!

We had a wonderful idea to take the girls to a Fourth of July celebration in the park near our house. Unfortunately, as is often the case in Colorado, the weather didn't cooperate. It was a torrential downpour! We spent an hour in the car until we learned that they cancelled the whole event!
