The girls and I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Daddy was working so it was just the three of us. Lissie's first gift to me was sleeping late (5:40AM) and both girls were angels all day. We had brunch with Granny and Papa and then went to do some last minute shopping for our Mother's day dinner. After hitting the store, we went to the park for a little while. Abby had a great time although she was more interested in other children's hair than the actual playground. When we got back home, both girls went down for a long nap, gift number two. When they woke up I decided we should clean the house for dinner that night but Abby wanted to play outside. So out we went. It was so nice and relaxing just hanging out with my girls. We looked at flowers, saw airplanes and cuddled (gift number three). I LOVE cuddling! Then I had the brilliant idea of finger painting cards for both grandmothers, an idea never to be repeated. Its a whole post on its own. Finally we all got cleaned up and then Granny and Papa came over for dinner. We had some wine and snacks while waiting for Mike to get home. When he came in, he had Abby bring me another present, Twix candy bars and a card that she "drawed for mommy". What could be better, chocolate and my sweet little baby drawing on a card for me. For dinner we had steak Oscar and Mike cleaned all of the dishes, another gift. The day, although not your typical "perfect" Mother's Day, was absolutely ideal. I couldn't have asked for anything better. It is a day like this that reminds me that even though you don't get what you think you want, God always provides you with what you need. I am so grateful and awed by God's grace and provision in my family. We weren't formed conventionally but we were formed the way God knew our family needed to be. So on Mother's day and every day I praise God for His wisdom and His grace. I have done nothing to deserve all that He has given me yet He has given freely and without measure.
