So as mentioned before in the Mother's Day post, we decided to make finger painted cards for the grandma's. The painting was well thought out. I had the floor lined, plenty of paper towels both wet and dry, mostly naked children and washable paint on individual paper plates. We were all set to go. I started with Abby and she loved smooshing the paint all over her hands then putting them on the paper. She even enjoyed painting her feet. What I didn't count on was how much she would love painting her entire body!!! Lissie wasn't very fond of painting the paper either, her preferred canvas was her tummy and her diaper. The whole process was hilarious and very memorable. After the much larger than anticipated mess, we decided we would all go and take a shower. I wiped the girls off as best I could and we walked carefully to the bathroom. Well, I didn't wipe well enough and I forgot I only have two hands so while preparing Lissie, Abby decided to climb into my bed. White sheets now a lovely blue green color. Then Lissie decided she was not into this whole getting clean idea and very loudly made her opinion known. So, I told Abby to get into the shower and of course, once the water hit the dried paint on her feet it turned very slick. Abby took a tumble hitting her bottom, her back and finally the back of her head. She lost it and so I climbed into the shower, clothes and all and tried to comfort my eldest while the youngest still screamed. We finally all got clean and then once the girls went down for naps I did a few loads of laundry. Nothing like paint, head injurys and laundry to make a happy mother's day. Never again:)
