Six Months and 2 Days!

I can't believe my baby is already 6 months old. So, here is an update on her stats. She weighs 14lbs 13oz and is 25 1/2 inches tall. All of that puts her in the 25th percentile compared to other American children. Lissie is such a joy and it is so nice to see her little personality coming through. She always has an easy smile and is a very content baby. She is frequently ravenous and is very sensitive to the temperature (just like her mom). She is not one to sit quietly and fade into the background. When she wants attention, she will definitely let you know. She adores her big sister and is starting to enjoy Mac as well. Lissie lights up when her Daddy enters the room and she loves playing on the computer with him. We are so blessed to have her in our lives.

This Makes Me Smile

Abby and Lissie playing together. Abby was showing Lissie all of her toys and the two of them played contentedly for at least half an hour.

I Guess I Should Have Done Tummy Time Sooner!

So I was whining (I think I do that a lot) to a group of friends the other day about Lissie being behind physically because she hasn't rolled over yet. They, of couse, asked if I was being good about "tummy time." I haven't been because Lissie really hates it and I don't like the crying. Then the next day, a good friend's little girl who is 11 weeks younger than Alisa rolled over. Well, after that, I decided to put Lissie on her tummy and plug my ears. What do you know, after a few tries, she rolled over. She has been rolling ever since. A little peer pressure never hurt anyone.

Bedtime Stories

Everynight before Abby goes to bed, we read her a bedtime story. She picks the book and then we sit on the bed and cuddle while Mommy reads. Since Lissie has joined our family she gets to listen to the story as well.

After the story Abby says "good book" and then kicks Mommy off of her bed so that she can jump off Daddy's lap onto her pillow. Then Mommy gets to pray and kiss Abby goodnight before Abby says "go bye bye Mommy" Once Mommy leaves Abby and Daddy sing songs and play for a little while before she finally goes to sleep.

A Milestone

Lissie has started sitting on her own! This makes her much more popular with her older sister. Now they can "play letters" together.

Not to be outdone in the milestone dept. Abby has decided to take up drinking:) She swiped Mommy's wine glass while Mommy was taking Lissie's picture.

I Guess I'm A Morning Person Now

Normally, waking up between 5 and 6AM every morning would make me incredibly cranky, but with Lissie its different. That is the time she gets up for her first feeding. I am really fond of this time with her because its the only time that its quiet and we're alone. My favorite part though is at the end after I've burped her and she is laying with her head on my shoulder. She grasps my arm and cuddles into me. It is the sweetest part of my whole day.

Our Little Lissie

Its hard to shine in a home where Abby lives but Lissie does just that. She has the sweetest smile and just lights up the room when she looks at you. Her little noises are adorable as well. After she sneezes she makes this tiny little high pitched sigh. Her latest noise is a very high pitched shriek. She makes this one when she is happy. She has also recently found her toes. It is so cute to see her try to put her feet in her mouth. My favorite and also most scary thing of Lissie's is that she cannot sleep without something soft over her face. Her favorite soft blankie is the one from her Granny - her teddy blankie. She just loves it so every nap and bedtime, I have to give it to her and then constantly check on her to make sure she hasn't suffocated herself! Actually I take it out the second she falls asleep.
