Zoo Craziness

With the weather being so nice this fall we've been to the zoo several times. Sometimes even as much as twice in one week. The coolest part about it is that every time we've gone, we have seen some different animals and very different behaviors. I swear its mating season!!! Also, there are several new babies that we've gotten to know. Its been really great. Sadly though, we frequently forgot our cameras so I don't have pictures of all of the cool things the animals did:(

Here is a picture of one of the monkeys reaching all the way out of its cage to get some leaves in front. On this trip we also saw a fish that makes a home in the rocks and is constantly cleaning it but moving rocks around with its mouth! We have also discovered that Abby's new favorite animals are snakes!

We also discovered that Lissie is a Starbucks baby! She stole what was left of Big Sister's chocolate milk. I've never seen her down anything quite that quickly.

Here is my sweet Abby just after seeing the baby snow leopards, there are three of them and they are adorable! There is also a new baby giraffe named Timber that she loves. He runs around his paddock chasing the peacocks. Its quite a sight!

Granny also came with us to the zoo recently. Here she is with the girls checking out Timber. On this trip we discovered that the male lion is named Kruger after Kruger National Park in South Africa where they got him from. Not a big deal to most but I LOVE Kruger Park and every time I see the lions now I think of SA.

Of course, as we all know, Abby's favorite part of the zoo is the carousel. She would ride it all day every day!

This was also the first time that Lissie actually smiled and even giggled on the carousel. Normally she's a little overwhelmed by the whole thing!

After the zoo with Granny, we went with some very dear friends. Abby and Eli have a true brother/sister relationship and Maddie and Lissie are only a few weeks apart in age. Eli's favorite part of the zoo is the train so on this trip we took a train ride.

Some other noteworthy things we saw at the zoo were Sea Lions mating, a very excited Zebra (if you know what I mean) and a Mishmi Takin trying to climb out of his enclosure to get to the plants outside. It really has been a wonderful time to be at the zoo. We can't wait to go again just to see what else happens!
