Happy Easter!!! 4/24/11

Happy Easter!!!  We had a wonderful day today celebrating the Lord's ressurection.  First we went to church.  The service was a nice one and the girls got to stay with us which was fun.  They always enjoy the singing and this time they really enjoyed participating in the response...He is Risen, He is Risen indeed.  They continued to say that all day long.  It was adorable.  After church we went over to Gigi and Grandpa Mike's for yet another egg hunt.  Yes, my girls are spoiled!

They're getting really good at the hunting now though.
Such pretty little girls.
Abby loved her Easter dress and I love how she accented it with red sparkle shoes!
Our little family.

After getting even more chocolate and candy, we went to a lovely brunch at a place called The Perfect Landing.  We sat right by the window and the girls loved watching the planes fly in and out.  The food was fantastic too!
We were able to get the girls home for a short rest before heading over to Granny and Papa's to celebrate with them and Uncle Craig and Aunt Barbie.  Of course, there was another egg hunt.  I think we'll have to donate all of this candy or all of our teeth are going to fall out!
Beautiful!

Tickle fight with Daddy.
As usual, Granny outdid herself with an amazing Easter dinner but the children had the most fun with my new favorite tradition, the Easter scavenger hunt.  Granny and Papa hide eggs with photos in them of various locations in the house and the kiddos run from place to place until they finally find their Easter baskets.  Its great fun to watch especially as Porter and Lissie were now old enough to really participate.
They went up and down the stairs at least 10 times!

It was a wonderful celebration this year.  I know the girls can't wait til next year!

Another Easter Egg Hunt 4/23/11

Today was quite the busy day.  First this morning the girls went to their cousin Lillian's birthday party.  She had it at one of those places with lots of bouncy castles and mazes.  The girls had a blast and were, of course, very tired afterwards.  Since this Easter weekend is going to be so busy we decided to have our family egg hunt right after quiet time.

Here are our cutie pies all ready to hunt.
They had so much fun searching for their eggs and they've gotten so much better at it.  Its a good thing the Easter bunny hid some in more difficult locations.  They got another ton of candy and a brand new movie, Tangled.
Lissie was very happy with her new movie.

Our ENT Appointment

We had our appointment with the ENT today.  It went exactly as expected...Lissie needs a tonsilectomy.  We also had her eye doctor appointment last week and the doctor was ready to schedule her next eye surgery.  Now we're hoping that we can do both surgeries together so that Lissie only has to go under once.  Fortunately, both surgeons are willing to do this.  Unfortunately, our insurance company is now making it very difficult.  The hospital in which both surgeons are allowed to work together is not covered and would cost us a mini fortune to pay for it ourselves!  Now I need to find another ENT that works at the correct hospital and is willing to work with the eye surgeon.  Why can't anything be easy?!

Easter Egg Hunts...Yes, Hunts!

This weekend our little town had many Easter Egg hunts and celebrations.  The girls got to attend two of them.  The first was the Helicopter Egg Drop that Porter and Paisley joined us for.
It was great fun.  The girls even posed with the Easter Bunny.
Right before the hunt began, a helicopter flew over the baseball field and dropped more eggs for the children to collect.  As soon as it was done, a horn sounded and the girls were off!
They got so many eggs that we had to empty their baskets into the stroller to allow them to go back out and get more!

This was Lissie when she realized there were no more eggs.  I believe her words were "bummer!"
Here is a shot of the helicopter dropping eggs for the older children.
We had a great time at our first egg hunt and the girls got more candy than we know what to do with!
On to the second hunt.  This one was called an Eggstravaganza and included all sorts of activities besides the egg hunts.
Here's another shot of the girls with an Easter Bunny.
Abby got her face painted.  She looked so cute with her little sparkly butterfly.  She was a little disappointed that it didn't cover her whole face though.
At this hunt the girls were in separate age groups so they had to hunt alone.  Lissie was very proud of her haul.
My beautiful Abby waiting for her group to get called.
Lissie was excited to see Abby go as well.
Look at all those eggs!

After this we were all very hot and thirsty so the girls got to try their first shaved ice treat. It was a wonderful and fun day!

My Little Dancing Star

So I mentioned that we've recently been watching Dancing with the Stars.  Well, thats not entirely accurate...we watch Lissie dancing in the living room while the show is on!
She is so cute with all of her little moves.
After each "performance" she always ends with a special pose, usually sitting on the floor with her toes pointed up.

I can't think of a better way of to watch tv!!!

The Latest on Lissie

While up at the cabin we all share a room.  This past weekend when we were up there we noticed Lissie has a very hard time breathing at night.  She has to work so hard to get breath that her chest actually goes concave.  Needless to say this is very concerning to us so I called her doctor.  He immediately refered us to an ENT.  Our appt. is on April 19th.  Mike and I are guessing that she will have to have her tonsils removed.  We checked them with a flashlight and they are HUGE!  We are hoping that if this is the case, we'll be able to combine her upcoming eye surgery with the tonsilectomy.
